A New Creation
Lots of work on the website today. Watching the project emerge from scraps of paper and ideas jotted down on napkins over lunch is truly inspiring - which says nothing about the sweat and sore muscles of the labor. It is a tiny, shadowy figure of creation. This started me thinking about creation and I turned to read about my favorite vision of a creation: the new creation.
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
Yet I was reminded by Paul that we don't have to wait for the new creation - as he declared to the Corinthians: "...if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." - 2 Cor 5:17
In any work that we engage in, it becomes apart of the new creation if Christ is guiding it, I pray we keep from expressing ourselves instead of expressing Him. It is an encouragement to watch this project taking form and shape.
I did research this morning preparing templates for the Lives of the Christians blocks for the newsletter which I create in Microsoft Power Point. I did research on my favorite athlete: Eric Liddell, found lots of pictures, and finished before 10:00am. Began making one on Christian author C.S. Lewis and have only the text to finish. I think they look pretty good.
After lunch, turned my attention to the website and continued replacing template links and texts, adding new graphics, writing up page descriptions, etc. No serious challenges today, but I learned a lot about the website blogs in particular. Tomorrow, I'll be meeting with Scott and reviewing the progress of the project. Yeah! Things are looking good! Here are some of the new art deco graphics created in Power Point: Apostasy, Marriage, and the New Creation.
