“All have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one” (Romans 3:12). Man has always known he has a problem—a problem preventing him from keeping perfect peace and justice and from reclaiming paradise. Every culture...
"The Bereans...received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (Acts 17:11)
“To encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25b)
The Berean Lamp Ministry is a ministry of Berean Christian Fellowship Church in Zimmerman, MN. It consists of a bi-monthly contributor-driven publication (the Berean Lamp Newsletter), edifying sermons on God's Word, a weekly e-mail delivered devotional, web-based resources, and much more.
We are not promoting religion but rather seeking the will of God in pureness together and the Glory of His son, Jesus Christ, our Savior, Lord, and Bridegroom. What do we mean when we speak of the Body of Christ? The Apostle Paul has much to say on what the Body of Christ looks like:
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, fervent with the Spirit; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” – Romans 12:3-8
The Berean Lamp was born out of a desire to train up the Body of Christ so that we would appear as Paul described in his letters:
"And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the Body of Christ, until we all attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself in love." – Ephesians 4:11-16
The Berean Lamp Ministry is intended as a framework for Believers to share their God-given spiritual gifts with one another for testimony, edification, devotion, and teaching - that they might encourage, exercise, minister to, and strengthen fellow Believers in the knowledge of God's Word, thereby exercise the Body of Christ. This ministry provides a place for all of us to share our spiritual gifts with one another and grow together into a deeper fullness with Christ, that His power would be manifest more fully in the walk of our daily lives. Strengthening each member's responsibility in the Body of Christ is crucial to our walk as a Body. If the left leg is weak, and the right leg strong, we will not be able to run the race set before us. As Paul says,
"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
"For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, 'Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
"The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' nor again the head to the feet, 'I have no need of you.' On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
"Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts." (1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
Too often, believers surrender their responsibilities in the church to "leaders" and "experts" who either encourage spiritual atrophy to strengthen themselves or mandate member's duties based on worldly talents.
At the Berean Lamp Ministry, we have no desire to "assign" or "mandate" spiritual gifts, rather, we pray that the Holy Spirit might draw each Believer through the Word of God to recognize their unique spiritual gifts and employ them for the ministry of the saints. We pray that you are encouraged and strengthened in these ending days by what you find here and are inspired to Godly thought and action in a world swiftly growing darker by the hour.

The Berean Lamp Ministry seeks to:
1. Encourage and strengthen the Body of Christ by providing the means for each of its members to share their spiritual gifts with one another, rooted in the Word of God, thereby growing into deeper union with one another and with Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31).
2. Minister to non-believers; be a witness for Christ and a testimony to His Body in the world.
The Berean Lamp Ministry is a place for the body of Christ to come for encouragement and spiritual sustenance in the face of our rapidly changing world. Whether we have heard of wars and rumors of wars or see upheavals in the natural order of things, Jesus taught us not to be afraid, saying, "when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains." - Mark:7-8
